In May 2020, the Senate of the German Research Foundation (DFG) approved the establishment of the Priority Programme "Sensor-integrating Machine Elements as Pioneers of Comprehensive Digitalisation" (SPP 2305). The programme is scheduled to run for six years. More than 20 doctoral students are currently working together on ten projects as part of the first funding period.
